We also have Evening Prayer and Bible Study on Wednesdays at 7 PM.
Finally, we have a Catechism Game Night for kids ages 6–12 on the second Saturday of every month at 6 PM (unless otherwise announced).

Is it handicap accessible?
Yes! If you need help when you arrive, text 570-765-8475 in advance, and one of our deacons or church members will assist you.
What should I expect when I come?
Our people are friendly and down-to-earth. Some come early for fellowship, coffee, and a light breakfast.
In our 9 AM Sunday School, we currently only have a class for adults, but children are encouraged to sit in, and we plan to start children’s classes again soon. We have a children’s message in the 10 AM service.
In our 10 AM Worship Service, we begin with a call to worship, an opening prayer, and several Scripture readings. We sing old hymns (e.g., “Amazing Grace”), new hymns (e.g., “In Christ Alone”), and the Psalms (e.g., Psalm 23 in metrical form to a familiar tune). We take up a freewill offering (visitors are not expected to give). The children are invited to come forward for a children’s message. Then, our pastor preaches a sermon that explains and applies the Bible. We confess our faith in the words of the Nicene or Apostles’ Creed. We pray for the church, the world, and all who are in need. Then we share the Lord’s Supper. We usually sing the Doxology before the benediction and sending.
For an explanation of why we do what we do, see Pastor Johnathan’s article “What Should a Sunday Service Include?“
People usually stay around for a while after the service for more fellowship. The pastors are always available to pray with you and address your questions.
What do you believe?
We believe and teach the Bible, God’s inerrant Word, as it has been understood by Christians for centuries. Learn more on our Beliefs page.
Who leads the church?
Our church is led by a team of Elders, also called Pastors. Our Senior Pastor, Johnathan Arnold, usually preaches on Sunday morning. You can listen to his sermons on the Holy Joys Sermon Podcast. Pastor Johnathan is working on his Master’s Degree and serves as President of Holy Joys, where he co-hosts the Holy Joys Podcast. He enjoys writing and has been published in magazines such as Firebrand, the Bible Methodist, and the Arminian Magazine. Johnathan is the primary author of The Kids’ Catechism and The Whole Counsel of God: A Protestant Catechism and Discipleship Handbook. He and his wife Alexandra (“Lexi”) have three children—Adam, Theodore (“Teddy”), and Lorelai. Elders Dave Shaffer and Leonard Kuhns have served the church for decades in various capacities, and have a heart for the church and community. The Elders are assisted by deacons Barry Stuck, Ann Radel, and Marilyn Shaffer.
